Back and neck pain

Back and neck pain are among the most common reasons people visit our clinic. These problems can develop suddenly after a specific incident, or slowly over time due to posture, work strain, stress or previous injuries.

Our Auckland osteopaths assess your whole body to understand the drivers of your pain, then use a mix of hands on techniques, movement advice and rehabilitation exercises to help you move more comfortably again.

Headaches, migraines and jaw pain (TMJ)

Head pain, headaches, migraines and jaw pain (TMJ dysfunction) can be very disruptive. Many people are surprised to discover that osteopathic treatment may help with headaches that are linked to muscle tension, joint restrictions, jaw mechanics or neck issues.

We assess the neck, jaw, upper back and cranial mechanics, and when appropriate we use cranial osteopathy and gentle structural techniques to ease tension, improve movement and support your wider care plan.

Shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand pain

Upper limb problems often arise from sports, work strain, overuse or falls. Common issues include:

  • Rotator cuff and shoulder pain
  • Tennis or golfer's elbow
  • Wrist and hand strain from computer work, lifting or caring for children

Osteopathic treatment for these conditions usually includes hands on work to the affected area plus assessment of posture, neck, upper back and rib mechanics, as these often contribute to ongoing strain.

Hip, knee, ankle and foot pain

Lower limb pain can make walking, running and daily activities difficult. We often see:

  • Hip pain and gluteal tendinopathy
  • Knee pain related to load, sports or longer term wear
  • Ankle and foot issues including plantar heel pain
  • Severs disease and Osgood-Schlatter disease

We look at how you move, your foot mechanics, hip and pelvic alignment, and your overall activity levels. Treatment is usually combined with a graded exercise plan.
